The International Olympic Committee is confident an impactful Olympics will be held in Brisbane, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the venues. “The games need to fit within the region,” IOC Chair Kirsty Coventry told Sky News Australia. “The Queensland government … they need to decide what’s best for them. “And for everyone that lives in their areas and the games will adapt and fit into that.” Ms Coventry’s comments come after Olympic swimming champion Ariarne Titmus criticised the venue plans for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
